Biography
Dr. Fangtian Zhong is an assistant professor at Montana State University since 2023. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from The George Washington University in 2021. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as a postdoctoral scholar at The Pennsylvania State University and University of Notre Dame. His research focuses on cybersecurity, software engineering, and AI for cybersecurity and software engineering. He has published two ESI 1% highly cited papers and received the Best Paper Award and Best Poster Award at the IEEE Cyber Awareness and Research Symposium 2024 and IEEE S&P 2025 repectively. Additionally, he has served as a TPC member and reviewer for several prestigious journals and conferences, including IEEE TC, IEEE TIFS, IEEE TDSC, IEEE INFOCOM, and ASE. He is also an Associate Editor for IEEE TNSM and IEEE TII. Dr. Zhong enjoys developing statistically elegant solutions to software security and software engineering challenges across various architectures, with a particular interest in analyzing native code without access to source code.
